Special Requirements for Transfer Students
Please note, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Additionally, some majors have a limited amount of spaces available; be sure to complete your application by the priority date to ensure full consideration to those programs.

Majors with special requirements include Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Operations & Information Management, and Sport Management.
Transfer students applying during their first full-time semester (taking at least 12 credits) of college should have:
- Very strong high school grades; and
- 4 years of high school math with a grade of B or higher in pre-calculus.
Transfer students applying during their second semester of college (at least 12 credits completed after high school completion) should have:
- 3.2 cumulative college GPA; and
- Macroeconomics, microeconomics, or financial accounting completed with a grade of B- or higher or in-progress (Accounting majors should have strong grades in accounting courses); and
- College level math completed with a grade of B- or higher or in-progress.
Sophomore (27+ credits completed at the time of application) or junior year (57+ credits completed at the time of application) transfer:
- 3.2 cumulative college GPA; and
- College level math completed with a grade of B- or higher or in-progress; and
- Sophomore: 2 additional predictor courses* with a grade of B- or higher.
- Junior: 3 additional predictor courses* with a grade of B- or higher.
*Predictor Courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting
Transfer applicants must have completed prerequisite coursework in both calculus and data structures with a minimum grade of B+. For more information, see the Manning College of Information and Computer Science website.
Transfer students applying during their first semester of college should have:
- Very strong high school grades; and
- 4 years of high school math; B or better in calculus.
Transfer students applying during their second semester of college should have:
- 3.0 cumulative college GPA; and
- Engineering calculus and a programming language course* completed or in progress with grades of B or higher.
Sophomore and junior year transfers:
- 3.0 cumulative college GPA; and
- Sophomore: Engineering calculus I and a programming language course* completed with grades of B or higher.
- Junior: Engineering calculus I & II and data structures completed with a B or higher.
*Programming courses such as Java, C, C++, or Python

Junior year transfers:
Microeconomics or macroeconomics with a C or higher grade. Completion of calculus or precalculus is strongly encouraged, but not required.
Admission is selective. Majors to the College of Engineering also require a strong academic record in math and science coursework, including chemistry and physics.
Transfer applicants must have a minimum college GPA of 3.0 or higher and have earned grades of C or better in college calculus and physics/chemistry courses. For more information, see the College of Engineering website.
Transfer students applying during their first semester of college:
- Very strong high school grades;
- Precalculus (or a higher-level math), chemistry, and physics during high school; and
- Engineering calculus I in-progress or with a grade of C or higher.
Transfer students applying during their second semester of college:
- A cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher;
- Engineering calculus I with a grade of C or higher and engineering calculus II in progress.
Sophomore and junior year transfer:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and the following pre-requisites with grades of C or higher:
- Engineering calculus I;
- Engineering calculus II; and
- Engineering chemistry or physics
Transfer applicants must have a 2.7 or higher cumulative college GPA and strong grades in related math and/or business coursework.
Students applying during their first semester of college should have:
- A well-rounded, strong high school academic record, including strong grades in STEM courses.
Students applying during their second semester of college should have:
- A well-rounded, strong college academic record;
- A computer science or computer science programming course (an AP Computer Principles or Computer Science A exam with a score of 4 or 5 may also be considered); and
- A college level math or statistics with a B or higher grade.
Students applying during their sophomore and junior years should have:
- A well-rounded, strong college academic record;
- A college level math or statistics with a B or higher grade; and
- Sophomores: at least one computer science programming course with a B or higher grade.
- Juniors: at least two computer science courses with B or higher grades.
Language of computer science programming courses can be in Java or Python.
Transfer applicants must have a GPA of 2.7 – 3.0 or higher, as well as above-average grades in math and/or science coursework.

Transfer applicants must have strong grades in related math and/or science coursework.
- College-level math with C+ or higher grade; and
- C or higher grades in related coursework, including calculus-based chemistry.
Special Requirements for MassTransfer Students
MassTransfer students should be sure to apply by the priority application date to receive full consideration for a selective major. After the priority date, applications are reviewed on a space available basis and some majors will fill up by the priority date. MassTransfer students are given priority for any available spaces.
Please note, pre-requisite courses can be in-progress or completed at the time of application to be considered for admission.

Completion of an associate degree that is mapped or linked to the Isenberg School of Management with:
- 3.0+ final GPA;
- College-level math (calculus or precalculus recommended) with a grade of B- or higher; and
- At least 3 predictor courses* with grades of B- or higher.
*Predictor courses include: microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial accounting (accounting I + II), and managerial accounting.
MassTransfer students who are not in a program approved for Isenberg School of Management must meet the regular transfer requirements for the program.
Completion of an associate degree that is mapped or linked to computer science with a 2.7+ final community college GPA.
MassTransfer students who are not in a program approved for computer science must meet the regular transfer requirements for the program.

Completion of an associate degree that is linked to engineering with a 2.7+ final community college GPA.

- A college level math or statistics with a B or higher grade; and
- At least two computer science programming courses with B or higher grades.
Language of computer science programming courses can be in Java or Python.
Completion of related science and math coursework with strong grades and a 2.7+ final community college GPA.
