Undergraduate Admissions
Checklist for Admitted Students
First-Year Students
- Review the Information for Admitted Students.
- Let us know whether or not you will accept our offer of admission by letting us know your decision. You'll find a link to do so on your acceptance letter. If you accept, you will pay the nonrefundable $500 enrollment deposit online at that time.
- Once your enrollment fee has been processed, you can register for New Student Orientation & Transitions. Students who have paid their enrollment deposit receive an email when the registration site opens.
- Sign up for housing. The Housing Preference Application, which is what new incoming students use to acquire housing for the upcoming year, will open on SPIRE on June 3, 2024. You have from June 3 until July 1 to complete the application, and you will be able to edit your application as many times as you wish up until the deadline.
- Request that your official final high school transcript (with graduation certification) be sent to the Admissions Office (mail@admissions.umass.edu). If it needs to be mailed the address is:
UMass Amherst Undergraduate Admissions Office
Mather Building
37 Mather Drive
Amherst, MA 01003
Student-printed transcripts are not considered official.
International Students
Admitted international students should follow the guidelines provided here. Shortly after admission, international students will receive an email from the International Programs Office.
