Summer courses at UMass Amherst offer a flexible way to earn credits, complete degree requirements, or explore a new subject. Choose from a wide range of online courses offered in two six-week sessions beginning each May.

Jump In: Start Strong Before Your First Semester
Designed for incoming UMass Amherst students, Jump In is a six-week, fully online summer program that helps you earn credits and build momentum before fall. Take a Gen Ed course and a college success seminar while connecting with advisors and classmates. Participants also have the opportunity for early campus move-in.
Summer Pre-College Programs for High School Students
From exploring campus life to engaging with college-level academics, students get the full college experience by joining UMass Amherst Summer Pre-College while in high school. Programs are taught on campus and online by dedicated UMass faculty and graduate students.
