Where to Find the Perfect Cup of Coffee

One of the first things I noticed when I came to UMass was that there is not a Dunkin' Donuts (soon to be known simply as "Dunkin'") on campus. While there are several within walking distance of campus, as well as two cafés that “proudly serve” Starbucks, I was still unsure as to what location would fund my coffee addiction.

This is what sparked my search for the perfect cup, and so began my love for Peet's Coffee. Being a Connecticut native, I had never heard of Peet’s Coffee before coming here, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. Plus, like most of the cafés on campus, Peet’s takes Dining Dollars so I never worry about spending my own money there. You can find Peet’s on bottom floor of the Integrative Learning Center (ILC).

There are countless other places on campus to get your daily cup. People’s Organic, located across from Harvest Market in the Campus Center, is a wonderful option. They have a large list of beverages to choose from and are accommodating to all diets, with dairy-free and low-fat milk options. Roots Café, located in the Commonwealth Honors College, and the Procrastination Station, located in the library, serve all sorts of coffees (among other snacks).

You can even make your own coffee, complete with different milks, creamers, and sweeteners in any of the four dining halls. Being voted number one dining on any college campus in the country for three years now, UMass makes sure we have all our dining essentials — including our coffee. If all else fails, there are multiple Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts on the bus route and in walking distance of campus. Don’t worry, you will never go without a cup of coffee here!
