Stay Warm and Stylish This Fall
With the onset of the brisk New England fall, it can be really tempting to ditch any fashion advice you were ever given and opt for whatever keeps your the most warm. Here are some essentials for staying warm and fashionable when you must brace the cold!
Layers
Layering sweatshirts or sweaters under an oversized denim jacket has been a popular look on campus. A lot of shirts and cardigans layered can look really cute, perhaps even under a vest. Don’t go crazy, obviously, but a lot of basic wardrobe findings can look really cute as layers with each other, and they are guaranteed to warm you up while you walk to class!
Hats. SCARVES. Gloves.
I’m a huge fan of oversized scarves. So much so, that I have an ottoman full of them in my room. Not only are they super cute, they protect you from all the wind that passes through the Pioneer Valley. Knit-hats are worn all over campus. Whether they’re for fashion, supporting a sports team, or supporting UMass, they’re really cute and helpful for warmth!
(faux) Fur!
Fur/fuzzy jackets are really popular right now, and they’re sure to keep you cozy. Get faux fur, though! You’ll look fashionable and stay warm, all while bettering the environment — quite the combo!
Oversized Sweaters
Or sweatshirts! They’re comfortable and definitely give off a cute fall vibe paired with leggings and boots. You can look fashion-forward all while staying cozy so walking to class won’t leave you frozen!
Boots/Booties
Duck boots, Timberland, rain boots… Booties, knee-high, calf-high… The choices are endless and are all bound to look nice while keeping your feet toasty when you walk around campus! One of the many perks of fall, in my opinion, are boots. They add style to any outfit.
