UMass Interchange

Currently enrolled students from UMass Boston, Dartmouth, and Lowell may qualify for admission* through UMass Interchange if they have:

  • Earned 12-23 college credits** with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher at that institution; or
  • Earned 24 or more college credits** with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at that institution.
  • UMass Interchange students should apply using the Common Application and submit all application materials required as a transfer student. There is no application fee for qualified students. On the Common Application, please request an application fee waiver and it will be waived once the application has been processed.

Non-degree and Continuing Education students are not eligible for UMass Interchange.

Selective majors, including those with audition or portfolio requirements or those with additional special requirements, may not be eligible through the Interchange program. To view these majors, please visit our Special Admissions Requirements page.

* UMass Interchange students must also be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing at all colleges/universities attended to receive UMass Interchange benefits. Criminal and disciplinary histories may also be considered as part of the application process.

** Credit amounts do not include transfer credits or exam credits.
