Union Information and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)

huddle

This page contains the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBAs) for each bargaining unit administered by Central HR and those administered by the Provost Office.

Each bargaining unit has a CBA that sets forth bargained employees wages, hours, sick time and other employment conditions.  Additionally, all employees of the University are governed by the Board of Trustees policies and standards and campus policies.

Unsure which Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) applies to you?

UMass employees are either represented by a union or are considered non-unit (not represented by a union).

New Employees

As a new employee, your hiring supervisor will share if your position is represented by a union.

For newly hired unionized employees, a union representative will talk with you about your bargaining unit and union dues at your new hire orientation.  If a union representative is not able to attend your orientation, they will contact you directly.

Job Transfers

If you are transferring to from a non-union job to a union position or switching unions, a union representative from your new union will contact you directly within a month of transferring.

If you are making your union dues through payroll deductions, you will find your bargaining unit code (abbreviation) on your pay statement in HR Direct.

How to see your union code on your pay statement:

  1. Log into HR Direct
  2. Click select paycheck under View Payslip
  3. Click any check date, a pay statement will pop up
  4. Your Union Code and any deductions you are making will appear under After Tax Deductions as highlighted below
