Employee Accommodations and Absence Support
About
The Employee Accommodations and Absence Support Team is a collaborative, employee-centered function that supports staff and faculty through life events, health needs, and workplace challenges.
Grounded in empathy, care, and respect, the team supports employees while upholding university policies and regulatory compliance.
The team includes two closely aligned units: Employee Accommodations and Absence Support. While each has distinct areas of focus, they operate in close partnership, recognizing that employee needs often span both accommodation and leave-related support.
The Employee Accommodations Team provides individualized case management for employees requesting workplace accommodations, including engaging in the interactive process, coordinating with medical providers and departments, and identifying reasonable accommodations that enable employees to perform their roles effectively.
The Absence Support Team helps employees navigate leave programs, including medical, family, and protected leaves, guiding them on eligibility, documentation, and processes.
Because many situations involve both accommodation and leave needs, the two teams work collaboratively to provide seamless, holistic support, reducing complexity for employees and supporting consistent, thoughtful handling of each case.
