November 12, 2025 Community

Content

We are pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the annual Chancellor's Citation Award, which celebrates individual staff members and staff teams whose work has significantly enhanced the university's mission. This award honors those who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and a meaningful impact within our community.

At UMass Amherst, many staff members consistently go above and beyond in their roles throughout the year. We're sure you know dedicated colleagues whose outstanding efforts deserve special recognition.

Since its inception in 1985, this program has recognized the exemplary service of our staff members, whose skills and efforts play a crucial role in achieving the university's objectives. Recipients of this award consistently go above and beyond their duties, positively impacting their executive area and beyond. Continuing the tradition, we will award up to ten individual staff members and two team staff awards to those in GIC-eligible positions.

Award Criteria:

  • The Chancellor's Citation Awards Committee is looking for examples of outstanding and original contributions to the university.
  • Examples include exceptional performance or service, original contributions to the university, and achievement of significant improvements in productivity or savings in operations. Please be sure to review the nomination criteria and guidelines prior to completing a nomination form.

Nomination Process:

To nominate a deserving individual or group, you must complete the nomination form by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. You may also submit additional documentation, such as letters of recommendation or supporting materials, to strengthen your nomination.
