Citation Nomination Criteria
1.) Nominated individual staff members or nominated staff teams should demonstrate exemplary and outstanding service to the university over the past year. This may include, but is not limited to, one or more of the following criteria:
- Original contributions to the university
- Attainment of high-priority university objectives
- Crises or exceptional service or performance
- Achievement of significant improvements in productivity and/or savings in the university operations
2.) Nominated individuals should be either a GIC benefit eligible exempt or non-exempt staff (01) member with active employment status and working at least 50% of the time.
3.) Nominated teams should be well established for over the course of the past year or longer and may be comprised of GIC benefit-eligible exempt or non-exempt staff (01) members in an active employment status and working at least 50% of the time.
4.) The size of the team that may be nominated for the Chancellor's Citation Award should normally range from two to six eligible employees. If a group is larger than six eligible employees, please email citationawards [at] umass [dot] edu (citationawards[at]umass[dot]edu) for consideration.
5.) Nominated employees or team members should not have received, nor be scheduled to receive a cash award under similar employee recognition programs within the past year.
6.) Faculty/MSP members are not eligible for this award since UMass has similar recognition programs honoring them.
