BCT faculty member Ben Weil will present on the topic of ensuring the safety and efficiency of indoor spaces during COVID 19 to the Western Mass Green Building Consortium. For those who may need to open buildings to customers, open schools to students, or run an indoor job site, there are more questions than answers as to how to do it safely and prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Guidance from government and international health agencies as well as professional societies can be helpful but can also be confusing. This presentation will provide some interpretation of the standards in light of recent evidence and provide some guidance in thinking through the best practices to minimize risk. We will look at short-term approaches to operations, but also consider how investments to address covid risk now, can pay off in the long-run by saving energy while providing healthier, more comfortable, more productive, and safer indoor environments.
