Seth Lawrence-Slavas, President and Principal at Wright Builders Inc. (and BCT Alumnus!), presented a lecture titled Affordable High Performance Construction and the COVID Era. As material prices soar, labor availability plummets and shipping delays cause mass chaos in the building world, there remains the need to provide affordable, safe, energy efficient housing for the majority of the population. The COVID era is with us to stay. You may be entering a changed work world, but you are well prepared for it. All the best from the BCT faculty! Everyone in BCT’s class of 2021 is now part of the ever-growing BCT Alumni community! Due to the still-ongoing pandemic situation and related gathering limitations, we weren’t able to take our traditional group photo at the CNS celebration (or hold our traditional CNS and departmental receptions and celebrations). Instead, we organized a commencement and awards celebration event on Zoom, which you can review in the video above. We also had seven graduate students completing their M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Sustainable Building Systems and our first student completing the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Building Construction.
