Looking to engage in intercollegiate competition? Club sports might offer the right activity for you. From mountain biking to ultimate frisbee to surfing, these clubs provide unique opportunities for student development, personal growth, lifelong friendships, and leadership training.

You can also build your community through groups that share your career goals, cultural identity, religious beliefs, favorite movies and music—even your love of acapella singing and the associated lifestyle.

Build real-world business experience while working in one of UMass Amherst’s student-run cooperative businesses. Whether you’re interested in food service, retail, sustainability, or bike repair, these ventures give students the chance to lead operations, collaborate with peers, and develop entrepreneurial skills while earning money on campus.

UMass Amherst offers sports opportunities for every level of competition. NCAA Division I UMass Athletics feature elite student-athletes competing at the highest collegiate level. Club sports offer intercollegiate competition with a less intensive commitment, while intramural sports provide casual leagues and tournaments where you can play with friends and have fun.

There's a Club for That

At UMass, students have the power to create and run clubs and organizations of their choosing—and because we have such a motivated community, that equals more than 400 active groups on campus (and counting). Whether your interests are in film production, chemical engineering, women’s rights, or eclectic dance, we’ve got something for you.

UMass Amherst’s history of activism is alive and well, and students are empowered to be agents of change on campus and in their communities. From our Mass Impact Day of Service, in which hundreds of students, faculty, and staff volunteer across the Pioneer Valley, to student-led clubs like Campus Zero and MASSPIRG, you’ll find plenty of ways to make your voice heard.
