UMass Board of Trustees Appoint Tenure and Distinguished Professorships to UMass Amherst Faculty Members
The UMass Board of Trustees awarded tenure to 36 UMass Amherst faculty members and appointed three to the title of distinguished professorships at its quarterly meeting held on June 7.
The faculty members who received awards of tenure are:

The trustees also appointed three faculty members to the title of distinguished professor:

- Joya Misra, provost professor and Roy J. Zuckerberg Endowed Leadership chair of Sociology & School of Public Policy in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
The trustees also made three faculty appointments with tenure:
- Carolina Bank Muñoz, professor, sociology and labor studies, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Song Liang, professor and department chair, environmental health sciences, School of Public Health and Health Sciences
- Ka Zeng, professor, political science, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (joining UMass Amherst in fall 2024)
