Week of Wellbeing

The Week of Wellbeing kicks off the semester with various opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to relax, connect, and recharge. 

 Beginning February 3, this week-long celebration is a cross-campus collaboration involving the Okanagan Wellbeing Collective, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Student Affairs, Campus Life, and many others. Learn more.

Guided Forest Therapy Walk with Sound Journey
Monday, February 3, 11 a.m. -  approx. 1 p.m. | Sylvan Woods Trails on Campus (Meet at Lot 44 on Eastman Lane)

Led by certified Forest Therapy Guide Ernie Brooks, this scenic walk will be a rejuvenating experience that fosters your connection to the natural world and provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a calming environment within the trails of Sylvan Woods.

Chapel Unplugged
Monday, February 3, 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. | Old Chapel

Join us for the Spring edition of Chapel Unplugged, a relaxing, coffee-house-style event featuring live acoustic music by the UMass Songwriting Club. There will also be a knitting station, coloring activities, and plenty of space to unwind and meet new colleagues. It's a perfect way to recharge before the busy semester ahead!


Workflow Wisdom: Creative Problem-Solving
Tuesday, February 4, 1 - 3 p.m. | Campus Center, Room 805

When an obstacle occurs, getting inspiration to solve it in a creative way may be tricky. In this workshop we will discuss what creative problem solving and critical thinking are, and how to maximize both when problems arise at work.

Take a break and join us for lunch as Jamil Zaki, Stanford University psychology professor and director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab, discusses the power of social connection. Zaki's groundbreaking research explores how connections influence our wellbeing and how we can cultivate more meaningful relationships in today's world.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing in the Workplace

Providing for the Wellbeing of Trans and Nonbinary People Today

Join us for a panel discussion on gender-affirming care under the current administration. Providers from Transhealth, Translate Gender, and University Health Services will share insights into the state of care, available services, and resources for trans and nonbinary people.
