UMass Amherst 2024-25 AAP Protected Vets & Ind. w/ Disabilities

This Affirmative Action Program (AAP) is designed to satisfy University of Massachusetts Amherst’s equal employment opportunity and affirmative action responsibilities under the (1) Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistant Act of 1974 (VEVRAA), as amended, which requires that government contractors not discriminate against and take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment disabled veterans, recently separated veterans, active duty wartime or campaign badge veterans, and Armed Forces service medal veterans, and (2) Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, which requires that government contractor not discriminate against and take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment, qualifies individuals with disabilities (IWDs). Separate AAPs for minorities and females have been adopted by University of Massachusetts Amherst.

University of Massachusetts Amherst has prepared this AAP to cover all applicants and employees. As described in detail in the program that follows, University of Massachusetts Amherst has a continuing commitment to the practice and implemented action of this AAP.
