HR Direct Employee Data

UMass Amherst strives to create an inclusive and respectful living and learning environment including encouraging use of correct pronouns for members of our campus community.

UMass Amherst employees can update their sex and pronouns in HR Direct through Employee Self Service by selecting Personal Details > Sex/Pronouns. The How to Update document provides step-by-step instructions.

Please note: pronoun and sex information in the student system (SPIRE) is not transferred to HR Direct, nor is pronoun or sex information from HR Direct transferred to SPIRE (instructions on how to update your personal information in SPIRE). Separately, Zoom provides information on how to share your pronouns in that platform.
