The latest edition of the APPA’s “Operational Guidelines for Educational Facilities Grounds” features a chapter on sustainable landscape practices authored by members of the UMass Amherst physical plant landscape services team.

Pam Monn, Todd Cournoyer, Kathleen Dion, Lee Michalopoulos and Tierney Bosci, along with R. Marc Fournier, contributed chapter 10, “Sustainable Grounds Management Strategies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst,” to the third edition of the grounds operation manual.

Pam Monn, assistant director, custodial and grounds services, says she was approached by Marc Fournier, former assistant director of physical plant grounds, about contributing the chapter based on sustainable practices used on the UMass Amherst campus. This is the first time UMass Amherst has been featured in the manual.
