From Sept. 23 through Dec. 19, the UMass Amherst Libraries will host a new UMass Worker Artist Exhibition, “Our Common Ground,” at the Science and Engineering Library (SEL) in the Lederle Graduate Research Center Lowrise. Showcasing the work of UMass Amherst worker artists, the exhibit highlights how the care for Mother Earth and for each other is expressed through creative practice.

The exhibit, featuring works from 16 artists and presented by the Partnership for Worker Education and the Building Bridges Public Art and Engagement Initiative, will be open to the public during regular library hours. To celebrate its opening and artists, a reception will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the exhibit space.

Building Bridges is a collaboration among the Partnership for Worker Education, Human Resources, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Civic Engagement and Service Learning. It draws on the power of solidarity and creative expression to bring people together and create a bridge across difference.
