In an email this week to the campus community, UMass Amherst Information Technology announced that a new, more secure SPIRE login experience will be available next week.

On Monday, July 31, between 7 and 9 a.m., SPIRE, the university student information system, will be unavailable while login changes are activated to require two-factor authentication.

The SPIRE login address will remain the same, spire.umass.edu. The SPIRE homepage will have a new look, with frequently accessed content presented in a streamlined manner.

The SPIRE login upgrade is part of UMass IT’s identity and access management initiative I AM at UMass Amherst. I AM at UMass Amherst aligns technology systems with campus community members’ dynamic personal and professional identities, supports flexible and equitable digital experiences and further safeguards university resources.
