The Office of the Provost, in partnership with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Assessment, Survey, and Effectiveness Research (ASER), invites faculty members and graduate students to the first of two Fall 2026 Classroom Equity Action Plan Forums on Monday, Sept. 28, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of Old Chapel.

Attendees of the open forum on advancing equity and belonging in the classroom will discover practical strategies, connect with colleagues, and contribute to a campus-wide conversation on creating more equitable and supportive learning environments.

Hosted by Wilmore Webley, senior vice provost for equity and inclusion, this interactive forum will bring together faculty and campus partners to:

• Share successful practices and lessons learned
• Explore approaches that foster belonging, connectedness and student success
• Learn how departments across campus are advancing their Classroom Equity Action Plans
• Build new connections and partnerships to support inclusive teaching

Whether actively implementing a Classroom Equity Action Plan initiative or simply interested in learning more, all faculty members’ perspectives are valuable. The forum is designed to encourage open dialogue, peer learning and an exchange of practical ideas that can be adapted across disciplines.

Participants are welcome to join at any point during the session and additional information and resources will be available through the Classroom Equity Action Plan Teams Channel.

Online registration is now open for the Sept. 28 forum. Faculty members and graduate students are encouraged to RSVP and take part in this important opportunity to learn from colleagues, share experiences and help shape the future of inclusive excellence at UMass Amherst.
