2023 W-2 Forms
Active employees:
2023 W-2s for active employees are available in HR Direct by the end of January 2024. If you haven’t opted for electronic-only delivery in HR Direct the W-2 will also be mailed to your home by the end of January 2024.
Current employees who have signed up for Multi-Factor Authentication/Two-Step Login will be able to access their 2023 W-2 online in HR Direct. Please note, users will need to disable pop-up blockers in their internet browser on this website in order to access/print a pdf of the 2023 W-2.

Former employees:
If you are no longer actively employed by the university your 2023 W-2 will be mailed to your last HR Direct mailing address by the end of January 2024. If you have not received your W-2 by February 15, 2024 you may bring a picture ID to the HR Employee Service Center for in-person assistance or submit your request via AskHR (please be certain to include the name under which you were paid and your telephone number).
1095 & 1099-HC Health Insurance-Related Tax Forms
- 1095 forms are no longer required in order to file US Federal Income taxes.
- 1095-B forms provide information about an individual's months of coverage under an employer-sponsored health insurance plan. Benefited faculty and staff should contact the MA Group Insurance Commission if they wish to request a 1095-B form. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of MA will mail the 1095-B form to Individuals covered under the University's PostDoctoral health insurance plan.
- 1095-C forms provide information about the lowest cost coverage offered to an employee. Active employees can access the 1095-C form online via HR Direct Self Service by early March. The 1095-C form is mailed to former employees at the last address on record in HR Direct.
- 1099-HC forms are required when filing Massachusetts income taxes and are mailed to individuals by the insurance company directly. Individuals covered under more than one plan in 2023 will receive multiple 1099-HC forms and will use all 1099-HC forms when filing taxes.
