Show your pride in your best UMass spirit gear. Everyone looks good in maroon. We also suggest comfortable shoes.

Get Ready for Founders Day

Browse the schedule using the track channels at the top of the schedule page and find the activities that appeal to you. Activities span from the softball field on the southwest corner of campus to the Kinney Center for Renaissance Center on the northwest corner of campus and everything in between, so be sure to factor in location and travel time to make the most of your day.

Parking

On Founders Day, university parking permit holders are encouraged to park in their assigned lots and travel to the celebrations and exhibits by walking, wheeling, or on the campus shuttles.

Visitors to campus can park in lot 34 located on Massachusetts Avenue or in the parking garage at 91 Campus Center Way.

Information Booths and Wayfinding

Founders Day Information Booths will be staffed and ready to welcome you at the Student Union North Lawn adjacent to the parking garage and on Haigis Mall across Massachusetts Avenue from lot 34.

Outdoors Experience Founders Day lawn signs and sandwich board will help you identify activities affiliated with Founders Day. Indoors digital displays, vinyl decals, and posters will help you find your way and welcome visitors to labs, libraries, galleries, collections, and more. Join us for Founders Day signs will help you identify which doors to use.

PVTA Buses

On Founders Day, campus and local community members are encouraged to use the UMass Transit campus shuttles, routes 34 and 35 to access the various events beyond the center of campus including the Arthur F. Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies (Eastman Lane); the NEST (Orchard Hill); and the UMass vs. UConn softball game (lot 33).

Please be advised the Haigis Mall bus stop will be temporarily relocated to Massachusetts Avenue from 8:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on April 29, 2026 and Presidents Drive will be a pedestrian only zone.

Dining

All are welcome to enjoy the free cookout taking place on Haigis Mall from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will also be complimentary novelty ice cream treats and UMass specialties across campus.

Founders Day visitors are also welcome to visit dining halls located across campus. View the full list of dining options across campus. Please note: all dining halls are open to the public for a fee.
