UMass RecWell Selected for NIRSA Wellbeing Collaborative
NIRSA, the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, in partnership with Wellfleet, has named UMass Amherst Recreation and Wellbeing (RecWell) into its 2026-27 cohort of the Wellbeing Collaborative, a year-long, high-impact initiative that supports campus recreation departments in embedding wellbeing into their culture, operations, and strategy.
UMass Amherst, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Sam Houston State University and Southern Oregon University were selected from a highly-competitive pool of applicants to utilize NIRSA’s Recreation for Wellbeing online course as the foundation for learning, receive guided coaching, and disseminate multi-modal learnings via the NIRSA Promising Practices model.
They will also work with coaches to apply their learning, test ideas, and refine strategies in real-time.
More information on the collaborative can be found at NIRSA.net.
