UMass HR Team Participates in Job Fair for Hampshire College Employees

Hampshire College recently announced a move to cut 82 positions, leaving faculty and staff searching for employment. The Five College Consortium, along with human resources representatives from UMass Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke and Amherst colleges participated in a job fair on Tuesday, May 7 at the Red Barn at Hampshire to assist affected Hampshire employees.

Approximately 65 Hampshire employees attended the event, where upon arrival, they were given a list of staff openings at all four colleges. Potential candidates had the opportunity to meet and talk to human resources staff members from each of the four participating institutions about the application process. At each table, campus representatives accepted resumes and provided information on open positions.

The Five Colleges Consortium was established to promote the broad educational and cultural objectives of the academic institutions in the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts by encouraging and fostering closer cooperation and understanding among the faculty, staff and students of the five institutions.
