UMass Hockey Heads to NCAA Tournament for Third Straight Season

The UMass hockey team, the 2022 Hockey East Champion and winner of the Hockey East's automatic bid, will make its third straight NCAA Tournament berth and fourth overall when the team begins play as the No. 3 seed in the Worcester Regional at the DCU Center on Friday, March, 25. The Minutemen will open the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Championship by facing No. 2 seed Minnesota in the Regional Semifinal at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
 
The winner will advance to the Regional Championship on Sunday, March 27, where they will take on the winner of Friday's No. 1 Western Michigan vs. No. 4 Northeastern matchup. Game time on Sunday will be either 4 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
 
UMass, who won the NCAA Championship in 2021, is seeking its third straight Frozen Four appearance and has a record of 8-2 in the national postseason tournament, 7-1 under head coach Greg Carvel.
