UMass Dining’s New Worcester Commons Opens Oct. 19

The university’s award-winning UMass Dining will open the new Worcester Commons at 7 a.m. on Oct. 19, capping a project that kicked off in 2018.

The new facility replaces the old Worcester Dining Commons, and features a ground-floor retail food café, a relocated commercial bakery and a restaurant. The facility is also home to a “Neighborhood Center” of student spaces including lounges, meeting rooms, a fitness center, a contemplative space and music practice rooms. Support offices for Auxiliary Services will also be included.

Located in the Northeast  Residential Area, Worcester Commons is one of the most popular dining facilities on campus. It features continuous, all-you-care-to-eat dining, such as sushi, pho noodles, stir fry, pizza, pasta bar, salad bar, Grab n’ Go and Halal dining.

The hours for Worcester are Mondays 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays 7 a.m. to midnight, Fridays 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
