Jane Fountain, Distinguished University Professor of Political Science and Public Policy, will moderate a webinar on green infrastructure as an equitable and effective tool to address the climate crisis, environmental justice, and sustainable growth. The event, on Friday, Nov. 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. EST., is free and open to the public.

The webinar, “Green Infrastructure,” is part of the Deep Dive forum series on national climate policy, organized by Climate XChange and the Pricing Carbon Initiative. The School of Public Policy (SPP) and the American Sustainable Business Council are sponsors of the event. Kate Fletcher, SPP class of 2020, is a co-organizer.

The webinar will explore the benefits, implementation, politics and funding of green infrastructure projects. Fountain will moderate the conversation with three other experts in the field:

  • Christine Conn, landscape conservation planner for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, whose experience includes work on innovative green infrastructure projects in the Chesapeake Bay watershed
  • Sacoby Wilson, director of the Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health Laboratory at the University of Maryland School of Public Health, who studies environmental justice and environmental health disparities in the context of green infrastructure projects
  • Will Allen, senior vice president at the Conservation Fund and head of the Conservation Leadership Network, an expert on green infrastructure and conservation GIS

The webinar will also include a Q&A session with participants. Registration is now open.
