Registration Open for Annual 5K Dash and Dine to Benefit Amherst Survival Center April 26

UMass Amherst Dining Services invites the community to participate in its 14th annual UMass 5K Dash & Dine on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m., with the goal to promote health and wellness at UMass Amherst while raising funds for the Amherst Survival Center (ASC).

UMass Dining’s focus is on quality ingredients and meals, customer service, student health and wellness, customization options and appreciation of global influences. For the past 13 years, UMass Dining has raised over $50,000 that has been proudly donated to the Amherst Survival Center. It is with the help of all donors, runners and walkers of the UMass 5K Dash & Dine that this run can continue its legacy every year.

“The UMass 5K Dash & Dine is an annual effort made to support the community in increasing awareness of personal wellness while addressing food security on and off campus,” said Ken Toong, associate vice chancellor of Auxiliary Enterprises. “Our goal is to create exciting initiatives that simultaneously support individuals’ personal wellness goals and help our neighbors in need. Our vision of success is built on being a true partner to the community, and working together to create meaningful and lasting impact.”

Along with media partners WWLP-TV and Rock 102, UMass Dining will bring a fun and challenging course to runners and walkers alike, while supporting the ASC food and nutrition programs.

The race fee is $15 for all Five-College students, $25 for UMass Amherst faculty and staff, and $30 for the general public. Children 8 years old and under are free to participate. The race fee includes registration and a complimentary meal at the university’s award-winning dining facilities in the Berkshire Dining Commons.
