The Isenberg School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Amherst placed in the top 10 for its online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs for 2027, according to The Princeton Review.

The online MBA program was ranked ninth nationally according to the survey. In its evaluation, the Princeton Review called it a “cost-effective, highly regarded program for working professionals.” It also cited its programs in analytics, healthcare and finance, as well as its platform, which it said provides multiple ways to engage with faculty members. 

“Isenberg has been teaching MBA students online for a quarter century now, and during that time we’ve focused relentlessly on making sure that online learners get as much attention and support as our on-campus students,” said Anne Massey, Dean and Thomas O’Brien Endowed Chair with the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. “I’m proud to have the quality, flexibility and value of the Isenberg Online MBA program validated once again by its status within the top ten on this year’s Princeton Review ranking.”

The methodology of the rankings included a survey of students, weighing 30 different categories, giving them an opportunity to rate areas such as faculty, their fellow students, career preparation, academics, as well as the technology platform. It also surveys school administrators on admissions selectivity, graduation and retention rates, faculty training and credentials, technological infrastructure, student indebtedness, and career outcomes among other items.

The Princeton Review chose the top 50 online MBA programs and tallied the rankings based on data from its surveys in 2025–2026 of administrators at 194 business schools offering online MBAs and more than 13,360 students enrolled in the schools’s online MBA programs.
