Obituary: Kathleen Picotte, Former Practical Nurse in Health Services
Kathleen T. “Kitty” Picotte, 79, of Richmond, New Hampshire, a former licensed practical nurse with University Health Services, died Dec. 12.
Born Oct. 3, 1939 in Northampton, she grew up in Amherst and was a 1957 graduate of Amherst Regional High School. She graduated from Western Massachusetts Hospital School for Practical Nurses in 1959 as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She attended Greenfield Community College and completed courses in crisis intervention, CPR, basic cardiac life support and pharmacology.
From 1965-84, she worked at UMass Amherst, often part-time, as an LPN, hospital aide and department assistant.
She and her late husband, Roger, built their own home in Richmond in 1984. There she enjoyed being active in the town, participating in the rescue service and the Richmond Historical Society.
She leaves her children, James R. Picotte of Dublin, New Hampshire and Michele Kelly of Keene, New Hampshire; two sisters, Barbara Stockwell and her husband, Tom, of Pelham, and Terry Goodhind of Belchertown; a son-in-law, Robert C. Kelly of Richmond; and her companion, Brad Pratt of Stoddard, New Hampshire.
