Neuro-Learning and Performance Lab Seeks Participants for Research Study

The Neuro-Learning and Performance Lab in the department of psychological and brain sciences is seeking children and adolescents ages 10-17 to participate in a study researching brain development and decision-making processes.

Participants will use games to choose between options of winning money or allocating money to different people. Brain waves will be recorded using an EEG cap. Eye blinks will also be recorded by placing four small electrodes on the face. The EEG cap and electrodes are noninvasive and completely safe.

Child and adolescent subjects should be right-handed with no neurological or psychiatric disorders and who are not on daily medication for these disorders.

Participants will receive $15 plus a bonus of $1-5 based on performance during the computerized task. They will also receive a $10 travel reimbursement. Participants who refer a friend who also participates in this study will additionally receive a $5 Amazon gift card.

Study locations are available at UMass Amherst and the UMass Center at Springfield.
