Musbah Shaheen, assistant professor of Higher Education in the College of Education has been conducting research for InFORM, a project of the College Impact Laboratory at The Ohio State University that is now beginning to release the results of its study of the religious, spiritual, and secular (RSS) affiliations of faculty at U.S. colleges and universities.

Funded by the Templeton Religion Trust, InFORM is a mixed-methods effort that aims to capture information on faculty RSS identification patterns—including denominational, political, racial, gender and philosophical worldview affiliations—and examine faculty expression of RSS beliefs and how their beliefs impact their academic practices.

Bringing his expertise in researching issues related to Islamophobia and the experiences of Muslim people in higher education, Shaheen has been conducting interviews with Muslim faculty members from across the country to understand how their Muslim identity informs their research, teaching and service.
