Flags Lowered for Serviceman Reported Missing in 1945
Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered the United States and Commonwealth flags lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday, Jan. 4, the day of interment, in honor of 1st Lt. Allan Turner, who was reported missing on July 17, 1945 and officially presumed dead on July 18, 1946 from the vicinity of Bishmaknagar Village, State of Arunachal Pradesh, Republic of India. He will be laid to rest in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
