On Founders Day, Tuesday, April 29, the UMass community is invited to help combat food insecurity by donating non-perishable breakfast foods in support of the Amherst Survival Center, which is partnering with the Dean of Students Office to open the Campus Pantry: ASC@UMass this fall.

The drive, co-organized by the UMass Amherst Community Campaign (UMACC) and UMass Basic Needs Initiatives, aims to gather breakfast staples such as peanut butter, oatmeal, boxed cereal, pancake mix, tea and coffee, which can make a big difference for students and neighbors in need. Every donation will make a difference in fighting food insecurity, which has been rapidly increasing in Western Massachusetts.

Donations can be dropped off at the food drive tent near the bus stop on Haigis Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop-offs may also be made April 29 from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the lobby of UMass IT, 400 Venture Way, Hadley, and at Worcester Dining Common from 7 a.m.-midnight any day through April 29.

Additional drop-off locations may be added, and updates will be listed on the Google document found here.
