The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) will be conducting its annual review of the UMass Police Department’s written directives and overall practices in September.

CALEA maintains a public access portal that allows for comments regarding candidate agencies seeking initial accreditation or reaccreditation status. The link for this portal can be found on the CALEA website or clicking this link: Accreditation Public Comment Portal.

This portal provides members of the community an opportunity for comments, commendations and other information regarding the agency’s quality of service or other information relevant to the accreditation process.
