The media is invited to learn about the future of clean energy and “climatetech” in Massachusetts, as well as how UMass Amherst is helping to build that future today.

WHERE: Kellogg Conference Room, Engineering Lab II, UMass Amherst (Map)

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is currently working to become the climate innovation lab of the world, thanks, in large part, to the work of MassCEC and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, whose Clean Energy Extension program and leadership of the Academic Center for Reliability and Resilience of Offshore Wind (ARROW) Center of Excellence are driving clean energy and climatetech innovation in the state.

Emily Reichert, CEO of MassCEC, as well as Senator Jo Comerford, Representative Mindy Domb and officials from UMass Amherst will be meeting at UMass Amherst on October 17 to learn about the university’s role in driving clean energy. Reichert will share the state’s vision for how climatetech can benefit every part of the commonwealth, from Cape Cod to the Berkshires.

Members of the media are invited to attend a Q&A and tour of one of the laboratories conducting clean energy research.

Parking is available in lots 45 and 65 (map). If you would like a parking pass, please reach out to Daegan Miller. Members of the News Office will meet reporters outside Engineering Lab II.
