Celebrate UMass Amherst at the 2023 Founders Day Cookout
The UMass Amherst community is invited to celebrate Founders Day at the annual free Campus Cookout Friday, April 28, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the Goodell Lawn.

Award-winning UMass Dining will prepare a healthy and sustainable meal featuring locally sourced items. Everyone is invited to wear their best school gear to the event, where they can also visit the UMass Athletics tent, stop by the photo booth and show their pride for UMass Amherst.
Coinciding with the cookout will also be The People’s Science Fair and the UMass Students Farmers’ Market
Held between the Campus Pond and Du Bois Library from noon-4 p.m., The People’s Science Fair will showcase diverse efforts by Western Massachusetts residents to harness STEM for social, economic, racial, environmental, climate and cultural justice. Participants will include campus-based researchers with justice-oriented projects, grassroots organizers whose work involves STEM knowledge and student activists committed to building a just future.
A collaboration between UMass Permaculture and the UMass Student Farm, the UMass Student Farmers’ Market is a weekly event featuring live music, fresh local veggies, medicinal herbs, handmade crafts, student art and an opportunity to get to know the amazing sustainability and DIY community on the UMass campus. The Spring 2023 Farmers Market runs every Friday thru May 12, from noon - 4 p.m. On April 28, the event will take place on the Library Deck, between Old Chapel and Goodell Hall.
Rain or shine, join in on all of the Founders Day fun as the university thanks the faculty, staff and students who make this campus a great place.
