The tools and procedures outlines in this handbook were developed by a labor management committee with representatives from Human Resources and SEIU Local 509, and piloted by a group of SEIU employees and their supervisors during academic year 1999-2000. This performance evaluation system incorporated many of the best practices utilized by other institutions of higher education and involves making many changes from the previous system of performance evaluation.
