Human Resources' mission is to meet the University's workforce needs of today and tomorrow through robust programming, efficient processes, and a responsive partnership with the campus community.

The Office of Human Resources provides services to the UMass campus community in the following areas:

Benefits
Manages employee benefit programs, including health, life, disability, dental insurance, retirement, workers' compensation, unemployment, personnel records, family/medical leave, tuition discounts, and sick leave banks.

Employee Engagement
Supports employees with training, development, recognition, and wellness programs, including Workplace Learning & Development, the Partnership for Worker Education, and the Employee Coaching and Counseling Office.

Talent Acquisition and Compensation
Handles position classification, compensation, and talent acquisition services for campus partners.

HR Operations
Maintains HRIS systems, payroll, and HR transactions, including data reporting and system training.

HR Business Partnerships
HR Business Partners address complex employee relations issues within the organization.

Labor Relations
Partners with labor unions to support the university and its employees.

Workplace Accommodations
Ensures full and equal access to information and services for all community members, both current and prospective.
