UMass Board of Trustees Approves Faculty Appointments
At its quarterly meeting held on April 8, the UMass Board of Trustees approved the following UMass Amherst faculty appointments.
The following faculty were named to a professorship and appointed an endowed chair:
- Matthew Thomson, professor and doctoral coordinator in the marketing department in the Isenberg School of Management, was named the Berthiaume Family Endowed Professor.
- Christopher Davis, professor of engineering, earth, geographic and climate sciences, and director of the Paros Center for Atmospheric Research, was appointed as the Paros Chair of Atmospheric Research and Hazard Mitigation.
The following faculty members received an appointment of tenure:
- Martha McNamara, associate professor in the Department of History in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts and associate director of Slavery North.
- Hannah Pollin-Galay, professor of history in the Department of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, and director of the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide & Memory Studies.
