Symphony Orchestra to Perform Stravinsky’s ‘Firebird Suite’

The university Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Morihiko Nakahara will perform Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” (1919) and Berlioz’s “Hungarian March” and feature performances by the 2018 UMass Concerto Competition winners on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students/seniors, and free for UMass Amherst students.

The competition winners – Emily Kaplan, flute; Brandon Nowakowski, alto saxophone; and Jessica Toupin, soprano – will perform music by Ibert, Granados and Martin.
