When should I contact the Office of Academic Success advising team?

The Office of Academic Success Advising Team is here to help when you want to: 

  • talk with someone about personal or academic difficulties you are experiencing
  • add class after the add/drop deadline (undergraduates only)
  • take a course for the third time (undergraduates only)
  • change a class to pass/fail after the mid-semester date (undergraduates only)
  • drop a class after the mid-semester date (undergraduates only)
  • request a credit overload for a summer or winter term course (undergraduates only)
  • get a Verification of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAPAP form completed for financial aid
  • talk with someone about the implications of requesting an incomplete
  • talk with someone about withdrawing from UMass for a semester or permanently
