About
Improving quality of life and achieving health equity are not just slogans — they lie at the heart of what we do at the UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Whether we are combating a global pandemic or an opioid epidemic, working to prevent chronic disease or food insecurity, advocating for global health or the environment, or striving toward healthy aging, lifestyles, or reproductive health, our research is always carried out with the goal of improving health outcomes for all.

Optimizing Health Across the Life Span
We aim to improve quality of life among all people across their life span, through proper nutrition, physical activity, caring for speech and hearing, as well as policy initiatives.
