Innovate - Objective 2

Objective: Bolster research infrastructure support in the school and increase awareness of research resources across campus

Key Performance Indicators:

• Number of awards processed by RAO total and per staff member
• Number of awards using specific research resources outside of SPHHS (e.g., IALS, CRF, ISSR, Springfield Center, etc.)

Strategy 1: Bolster RAO office and research computing access

Action Steps:

• Increase staff in the RAO office, especially for post-award support
• Develop and implement plan to expand training and to improve efficiency of RAO staff (identify tension points and how to improve them)

Strategy 2: Maximize use of UMASS facilities and resources (e.g. Springfield Center, CRF, core facilities, Mt Ida, UMASS library, new space in Totman) and improve current research space

Action Steps:

• Create a map to understand who is currently using these spaces/resources, and undertake an inventory to determine current awareness and future interest in using these space/resources
