Strategy 1: Improve instructional quality through faculty mentorship
Action Steps:
- Build teaching support within SPHHS, providing resources, workshops, and faculty mentorship especially for new and adjunct faculty
- Encourage faculty participation in CTL fellowships, workshops, and MAPS.
- Support efforts to improve teaching evaluations to align with CBA and Provost’s office recommendations and as outlined by the SCC
Strategy 2: Expand access to HIPs
Action Steps:
- Expand and encourage opportunities to study abroad including participation in Global Launch and faculty-led study abroad programs within SPHHS.
- Increase infrastructure and support of research opportunities for undergraduate students.
- Develop and expand opportunities for internships and course-based community service activities.
- Improve infrastructure for tracking of internships/practica
Strategy 3: Provide innovative curricula to prepare students for evolving 21st century needs
Action Steps:
- Encourage and incentivize co-teaching and cross-departmental teaching collaborations
- Implement regular curricular reviews, as developed by departments
- Participate in the university-led review of GenEd curriculum
- Incorporate real-world examples/experiences into classroom instruction
- Encourage the development of new 4+1 programs, and enhance support for existing 4+1 programs
