Objective: Unify and coordinate SPHHS’s engagement efforts so it can focus its considerable knowledge and resources toward building impactful, sustained, and mutually beneficial partnerships with external stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators:
- TBD using Faculty Activity Project Data related to community engagement activities
- Number of news articles focused on community engagement activities
Strategy 1: Develop systems to document, align, and communicate faculty, staff and student engagement activates in research, teaching, service and outreach.
Action Steps:
- Convene a cross-SPHHS committee to coordinate data collection: research, teaching, service, and outreach
- Develop a centralized, internal database to track faculty, staff, and student engagement activities, leveraging existing tools (e.g., Faculty Success project for faculty ) and gaps in additional sources
- Establish a regular (e.g. annual or bi-annual) review mechanism for updating and validating engagement data
Strategy 2: Identify and implement metrics to track key community engagement activities.
Action Steps:
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to define streamlined engagement metrics (e.g., partnerships, student involvement, outcomes)
- Track community engagement activities that demonstrate impact, reciprocity, and sustainability overtime and review data annually
Strategy 3: Increase visibility of SPHHS community engagement activities and impact.
Action Steps:
- Collaborate with the IT team and communications office to create a data visualization and storytelling platforms
- Create a storytelling series with diverse voices from SPHHS and partners, and launch a public platform to showcase community engagement efforts
