Objective: Grow the size and diversify the SPHHS research portfolio to align with aspirational peers.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Total number and dollar amounts of proposals submitted and awarded by department and faculty member.
• Awards by sponsor category.Distribution of award type (R01 vs. Center or U grants, etc.)
• Proportion of PI, Multi PI and Co-I funding obtained

Strategy 1: Strengthen ties to wide range of funding organizations toencourage growth and diversification

Action Steps:

• Develop plan with Research Committee, Department Chairs, and other stakeholders to foster connections with federal, state, industry and private organizations

Strategy 2: Foster interdisciplinary research interest groups within SPHHS and across the university to promote the acquisition of large grants

Action Steps:

• Implement Teams Research Working Groups
• Map pipeline of SPARC and LIRA grants and understand how to provide support
• Develop broader plan with Research Committee, Department Chairs, and other stakeholders to foster interdisciplinary research efforts
