Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Fouad Abd-El-Khalick has appointed a search advisory committee to aid in the selection of the next dean of University Libraries.

Dean Nandita Mani, who was named deputy chancellor for institutional effectiveness in June, will continue to lead the Libraries until a new dean is appointed.

Jackie Urla, dean of the Graduate School, and Tilman Wolf, deputy chancellor for operational and organizational strategies and senior vice provost for academic affairs, have been named co-chairs of the committee.

Members of the committee include: 

• Steve Acquah, coordinator, digital media lab; associate research professor of chemistry 
• Whitney Battle-Baptiste, professor of anthropology, director of W.E.B. Du Bois center
• Jennifer Chaput, data services librarian 
• Ryan Clement, associate dean for data, digital strategies, & scholarly communication 
• Alyssa Li, graduate student
• Katherine Freedman, history & graduate student services librarian
• Laura Quilter, copyright & information policy librarian
• Bella Rabin, Student Government Association
• Melanie Radik, science and engineering librarian 
• Rebecca Reznik-Zellen, head, science and engineering library 
• Sam Sharp, Learning Commons supervisor
• Jeremy Smith, moving image & sound archivist
• Gabe Stetson, coordinator, digital curriculum, reserve, and media 
• Jaime Taylor, coordinator, discovery & resource management systems 
• Caroline White, archives and manuscript librarian 

The firm of Isaacson, Miller has been retained to support the search, which will launch this month. Finalist interviews and forums will take place late in the fall semester.
