Rogers, Steele Earn Promotions at EH&S
Jeffrey Hescock, executive director of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and Emergency Management, has announced the promotions of Christine Rogers and Maryanne Steele.
Rogers has been named EH&S associate director. She joined EH&S in 2012 as assistant director of academic safety. In her new role, she continues to be responsible for academic and research safety services in the areas of biological, radiological and chemical use laboratory practices and now also serves as the backup to the executive director of EH&S.
Steele has been named assistant director of campus safety and fire prevention. She had been serving as interim assistant director since July 2017 and prior to that served as the EH&S officer for construction safety. She is responsible for campus workplace safety and fire prevention services, including assigned related emergency response procedures, application of state building and safety codes, and associated training.
Both promotions were effective July 1.
“I look forward to working with Christine and Maryanne in these roles, and I’m confident they will help us continue promoting and working on providing a safe and secure environment for living, learning and working for the campus community,” Hescock said.
